Lots of truck owners get confused on where to install their train horns. We comprehend it can be confusing, because your car has so many places where it could bolt on. The ideal places are in the front of the radiator and behind the rear differential. These two spots are the ideal because they’re far away from any heat source, preserving the health of your horns over a long time. Putting it on the side by the doors creates problems because someone could steal them or you could step on them one a bad day when you forgot they are underneath your door. If you install your train horns inside your cabin, you’ll loose your hearing! At this proximity then the sounds are damaging to your ear canal. Lots of enthusiasts think this makes their car and truck louder than the next guy’s, but I beg to differ. I suggest bolting up your train horns to somewhere outside the cabin like the front of the grill or near the back muffler. When you put the horns in this position, along with the air compressor and air tank, it maximizes performance and saves your hearing. Fred put them behind his passenger seat and now uses a hearing aid.
